Introduction

In this report, we present the sustainability goals that have been implemented since the construction of our hotel began. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected across various aspects of our operations, from energy consumption and environmental protection to waste management and social responsibility.

Environmental Protection

Our hotel was designed with the objective of minimizing energy consumption. All areas are equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, and we utilize automatic room controls such as sensors and motion detectors to optimize energy use. Housekeeping uses tablets for efficient room cleaning, preventing unnecessary electricity usage. The bathrooms feature intelligent controls for heating, ventilation, and lighting. Building planning already took into account aspects of energy efficiency, which means the building itself saves many efforts through optimized design.

The heating is provided by concrete or component activation, allowing for a reduced heating period. Forced ventilation ensures air exchange without heat loss.

Housekeeping

Our "Housekeeping on Demand" service allows guests to decide if and when they want room cleaning or linen and towel changes. This is rewarded with a complimentary drink. Informational materials remind guests of the importance of saving electricity and water.

Water Consumption

Showers, sinks, and toilets are equipped with flow restrictors. In the laundry room, employees are trained in the use of washing machines to optimize water and energy consumption.

Waste Management

We focus on waste prevention by purchasing food in bulk packaging, using reusable containers, and preparing meals efficiently. Waste is separated, and unnecessary single-use products are avoided.

Environmental Conservation

The building is largely made from renewable materials. The facade cladding includes wood fiber cement boards made from wood waste. All used materials are recyclable or made from recycled material.

Pollution Reduction

We reduce pollution through measures such as reducing procurement and delivery trips as well as using public transportation and carpooling.

Conclusion

Standards must be continuously maintained and monitored. Suggestions for changes and improvements are regularly discussed in team meetings.

Recommendations

As soon as pandemic regulations allow it, we plan to eliminate single-use packaging and resume regular training in the F&B area.

Labor and Human Rights

We place great emphasis on education regarding the treatment of refugees as well as occupational safety. Regular training ensures a high level of awareness among our employees on these topics.

Community Support and Engagement

Through our initiative, local products have been listed with our wholesaler, benefiting other restaurateurs in the region. We support city and regional marketing by providing free overnight stays for various campaigns.

Guest Satisfaction

Guest surveys are conducted via various online platforms. We aim to continuously improve our services based on guest feedback.

This report summarizes our efforts in 2022 to operate sustainably with both ecological and social responsibility in mind. We remain committed to our sustainability goals and continually seek new ways to enhance our practices.
